Way back in June I talked my wife into a late July early August 2 day camping trip then 2 day hotel stay in Telluride. We fished at Trout Lake and what a nice place!! The lake is filled with rainbow trout and cutthroat trout had a great time catch them trolling and still fishing and from shore as well. Tasted great too!! Here in New Mexico it has been very dry, but the rains felt great while camping. Each evening it really poured and my wife was thankful for the 4 season Marmot tent that I had for us as well as a couple tarps spread out above us to keep us dry. She then enjoyed the hotel stay(I could have easily camped for the entire time). Anyway, it was a great trip overall :D

I fished that area about 10 years ago, and you're right, it's a very nice area. My sister lives north of there, but I don't get a chance to visit her often enough.<br />For a couple of years, my brother lived in Farmington, NM, and we fished the San Juan and some smaller rivers....classic fly fishing waters.

Capn Mike, I live in Albuquerque. About 3 hours from the San Juan River. I go over there about once a year usually in the fall or winter time. It is a great place. Navajo Dam is also a great place to take the boat and fish for a variety of fish-bass, kokanee, brown and rainbow trout, catfish, crappie. Take it easy
