Troubleshooting my 1991 Ebbtide 182 my First Boat!

It has a Yamaha 4.3 V6 motor and I am having a hard time getting it started. First it would turn over, lock up on compression then spit fuel straight up through the Carb. after taking the Carb apart and rebuilding it now turns over and runs for a sec but will not stay running. I am looking for input on what to check now.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... I'm guessin' ya still got fuel delivery issues,......

Bad gas, Crud in the gas, plugged plumbin',....Filter,..??
Maybe the carb is Better, but still not Right,..??

Yes I got it to run. I had to push the throttle forward a little to start and it runs there but it will not stay running in neutral. Seems really sensitive to the spot that will actually crank and run. Has a quadrajet carburetor and on installation the two screws that turn I went out 3 and a half turns. Should I adjust these? If so which way should I go out or in?
