We are finding it difficult to pour fuel into the tank. Filling at the pump, or pouring into a funnel from a can, the boat will not take much without overflowing back out of the filler. No idea if this is common with this boat. We just acquired it last fall and only started to use it this spring so no history from new, although we could ask the fellow we bought it from if he experienced this issue, I suppose.
Anyone have ideas on what to look for? We think it should take gas at a good rate and that there might be a small splash out of the vent to tell us it is full. We can hear air out the vent so it is not totally plugged. Haven't tried anything yet. Wondering if there is a check valve in the line or something like that.

I would just pop the vent tube off and blow it out with compressed air and see if its blocked up, you need a good amount of air coming out of the tube for the fuel to be able to freely make its way to the tank, also pump a bit slower and dont put the pump all the way in the filler neck

I also expect the vent to be plugged or crushed down somewhere. When I fill my boat, I listen to the vent to know when to stop filling so my fuel doesn't overflow while driving down the road. It is that obvious the vent is clear that it is louder than the gas pump and gas going in. When I hear the vent gurgle I stop filling. If I wait for the nozzle to kick off I'll be dripping gas all over the stern of the boat.

Ayuh,....... With some boats, the fill hose is so convoluted in it's installation, ya just gotta feed it fuel, Slowly,.....
