Trouble During Intial Thrust

I dont know if this is the right place to post. I have a 01 Larson 230 LXI with a Volvo Penta 5.0. When I have someone in tow, and I gun it, the boat putters for a second or two, at full throttle, but when it planes out were moving! Any ideas?

Bad gas maybe. I always add some stp or other type of add. it helps. JMHO

My boat has a separate throttle behind the shift lever. Sometimes, when the driver pushes the handle down fast, it pulls the throttle lever up, essentially flooding the engine. You might want to check for that.

does it feel like fuel delivery problem or a drag problem? Does it happen only when you're towing?
