trolling

Hi All, i have an 18 ft. runabout and wanting to buy a trolling motor,but find there are different thrust,what would you guys recommend?<br />There always seems to be alittle wind in my area, not sure what would push the boat.Any help would be grateful

Are you using 1 or 2 batteries?<br />Biggest motor for 1 12volt battery is 55# thrust. This should work.

A 55 thrust would work fine.I had 18 ft bowrider that i did a little coversion to.I removed the bench seats in the bow,cut a piece of 3/4 in plywood that fit over the bow.wrapped it in carpet and mounted a pedastal seat to it and the trolling motor.put a deep cycle underneath the plywood floor.So when i wanted to ski or play on the lake i could lift this out and pop in the original seats in about 5 minutes.
