trolling plate

Did any of you replace a kicker for a trolling plate?
Please share your experience,thank you

i don't like anything attached to my engine, even hydrofoils.

A trolling plate uses a lot of fuel and makes handling sort of squirrely compared to a kicker. Sort of like towing a big rock to slow your car down.

A good 4 stroke can idle down to nearly nothing and use little fuel doing so. If that is too fast an electric on slow speed can troll a long time on a battery.

Don't like trolling plates.
