Considering adding a small motor on to my boat so that I can maneuver in and out of tight spots and not worry about ruining the prop on the outdrive. I have a 1989 Larson 22' I/O, Thinking of using an electric motor. Any ideas of size needed. and mounting ideas?

Usually bolts to the anti-cavitation plate (right over the prop). Use the helm to steer the boat.

The problem with the ones bolted to the outdrive is you need to have the out drive down in order for the trolling motor to function. This is fine for deeper water but if you want this to get in and out of shallow bays I think you would be defeating the whole purpose of adding a trolling motor.

What type would mount to the trim tabs. Can they support it? What about steering?
