Re: trolling motor question

you can take the SW out try to clean it or you can switch the 12v wire with the 24v wire.

Re: trolling motor question

Since we have no idea what year make and model the trolling motor is I'll take a stab and just assume its a MotorGuide. On those motors, Red and Black are 24 volts. Orange and black are 12V. For 24 volt always, you don't need to switch anything. Just remove the switch and connect the +24V feed from the batteries to the red wire from the troller. But why not just figure out what's wrong and fix it.

Re: trolling motor question

Thanks for the help.i am going out of town til next week(inlaws x-mas)i would like to repair it if its cheap enough, but right now both my wife and i both have no jobs due to the lay offs.cant really afford gas for it so i figured until i could get it repaired properly i could use it on 24 volt and fish just using the trolling motor.thanks again for all the help and hope everyone has a great christmas or holidays.see ya' Bill
