We frequently fish out of our 19' cuddy cabin. I would like to install a trolling motor on it.Any thoughts on this? Install on the front or back? Will it work?

Re: Trolling motor on a cuddy cabin?

I use a 47lb. MK, transom mount on my 19ft. cabin cruiser. it moves it around just fine, though the steering is somewhat of a pain. The guy who had it before actually used a 35lb. MotorGuide, and it worked, but not fast. Wouldn't recommend it :D .

The more thrust the better, but I'd say the minimum you want would be upper 40's, even better around the mid 60's. Hope this helps.

I think you'd be better off with a 6 or an 8 horse hanging off the transom..........
