Trolling motor not working?

I have a 1999 Motor Guide Hyper Drive Trolling Motor
12/24 volt Brute 67 lbs thrust
567


Last time we took it out it ran fine. We trolled for about 2 to three hours constant mainly medium speed. When we headed back to the shore the trolling motor started to slow down. I checked battaries and the were pretty draind. Motor eventually stopped. I put battaries on charger, fully charged them and trolling motor not coming on. What did i do. What could it be. Thanks for any help

First make sure the batteries are charged - just cause the charger indicated full don't make it so - check it with a digital voltmeter or hydrometer.
Second make sure power is getting from the batteries to the motor - if you plug it into a socket on your boat then check voltage at the socket.
Do you have a fuse or circuit-breaker on board, if so then check that out.
If you are getting full power to the motor and it still won't spin, then describe how your batteries are hooked up in the boat and to the charger.
