I bought a boat from a friend of mine almost a month ago. It is a 1992, 19' Osborn bay flats with a 1993 Johnson 150HP Silver Star Series outboard. There is an evinrude model 8HL4TS trolling motor attached to the front of the boat. The trolling motor is 24 VDC with a 12/24V switch under the handle. Two sets of black and red wires run from the trolling motor and are attached to two deep cycle 12V batteries in the stern. For a month the trolling motor has run perfectly. This morning I use it fishing and the blade is turning in the opposite direction. I have done nothing to this boat, electrically speaking, except charge the batteries and re-wire the bow lamp. Out of the blue, for no reason its running backwards. I have checked and re-checked the wires at the batteries and they are correctly attached. Is there any explanation for this?

SOLVED -- I found out that the handle pulls outward for reverse. Boy don't I look like the genius?
