Trolling motor mounting

I have a transom mounted trolling motor on my 14' aluminum. Problem is, the outboard is in the way when you are trying to steer to starboard. The handle on the trolling motor hits the outboard whether the outboard is tilted up or not. I have looked for a mount to set the trolling motor back behind the outboard but so far I can't find one. Anybody else have this problem?

Can you move it farther out to the side?

I've moved it as far as it will go. If you move the trolling motor up high, it is better, but then the prop is really not low enough. I can get by, and it is much better than not having one but it makes it hard to maneuver in certain situations.

I don't know how your boat is configured, but I've seen little fold-out brackets that clamp onto the side of the boat and make a sort of "side mount" I think probably Cabelas or someone like that offers them.
