I would like to put an electric trolling motor on my Trophy 2103 CC boat, and want to know what size shaft I need. I would mount it on the front of the boat, and don't know if I need a 54" shaft or a 60" shaft. I think I am going to go with the Minn Kota Maxxum 80ft pound motor with the ipilot feature. Any suggestions?

Stand on the bow with a tape measure and come up to a comfortable operating height from the water + 12 in to submerge the head....too long is better than too short as the actress said to the bishop......You want it near where you fish so that will be the bow 80 ib is good as you can always turn it down but once flat out thats it with a 40 /55 lb dont expect more than 3 mph ...its down to the prop pitch and rpm

On a 21' Trophy a 36V system is probably not too big for positional fishing. If for actual trolling, wagnerz has the right answer.
