I have installed a Minn Kota PowerDrive V2 on my pontoon. It has a slide mount so I can remove it for winter storage. Consequently, I need to install an electrical connector at the bow of the pontoon. However, it seems that all of the various trolling motor plugs out there have receptacles designed to be mounted on a vertical surface. I guess I could mount the receptacle in the floor but I imagine that rainwater collecting in the receptacle is not the best approach and I can envision the plug sticking straight up from the deck being kicked and broken regularly by an over enthusiastic fisherman sitting in the bow seat. I've seen that at least one pontoon manufacturer uses a neat angled housing but cannot find that or similar thing sold as an accessory.
Anyway, what have you folks done for the trolling motor plug on your pontoon boat? Ideas and photos welcomed. Thanks in advance.
