I am going to install a minn kota plate on top of a motorguide plate and I'm not sure how I want to do it. My options are drilling through the motorguide plate and using toggle nuts, or tapping 1/4" aluminum the MG plate.
I am installing an 80lb thrust motor, and the existing nuts are inaccessible. I'd like to retain the option of reinstalling the motorguide in the future. I'd think (4) 3/8" bolts threaded in the aluminum would be more than adequate... what do you think?
