Hey guys I have an opinion based question for you.

I have an 18 foot bayliner classic with the mercruiser 3.0 i/o setup. In addition when I bought the boat it had a kicker motor bracket installed.

I am considering putting a kicker motor on the boat as secondary propulsion and for fishing. However I have a question.

If I mount the 6 hp long shaft trolling motor on the bracket will my outboard drive act as enough of a rudder to steer the boat? I know it will not make hard turns, but I am wondering about holding the boat on a course or turning around at the end of a run.

you have to use the kicker motor to turn.
