trim trouble

Well i am new to this so bear with me. Trim quit going down...filled with fluid and now it goes down but makes a wierd noise almost like a whistle....is this bad? Sounds fine coming up, just bad going down. Any help is appreciated. Old 1979 mercury 115 horse not sure of pump specs, four hoses and an adjustment knob on the side.

Re: trim trouble

if the motor runs check for mechanical binding.
If the motor does not run then track down wiring.
If wiring checks out but motor isn't running properly then tap with a hammer this week and get a replacement on order from iboats, amazon, ebay, etc.
