Was pulling out from anchor, in a dicey situation and received the following error message on the port engine: "Trim too high to start engine". Trim on port engine was reading 178 degrees. I fired up the stbd engine and was able to maneuver on the single engine to get me out of the situation. Trim on stdb was reading -4 (which is normal reading before shutting down both engines). On my ride back to the slip, I stopped, turned everything off, disconnected batteries, waited for 30 minutes. Reconnected everything, turned ignition on the port engine, trim reading was 0, I quickly started the port engine. Stbd started fine. So now I have both engines to be able to dock safely.

On my ride back, the port engine trim gauge was reading all over the place until it stopped reading all together. Engine was still running fine (Garmin - All EVC here with no analog gauges or volvo gauges).

I recognize this is a faulty trim sensor but dealer is backed up for months. Is there any way I can disable the trim sensor reading on the port engine until we can replace the trim sensor? Or even bypass it? Just so I can use the boat for a few more months.

Using the individual or both trim switches doesn't change the reading on the port engine. It's not reading correctly or sporadic at best.

Thank you in advance.....

Thank you, will do. In case it's not a bad connection, do you know how I can disable the "Trim check" so that I can start the engine? All EVC here and everything is digital. So having a hard time figuring out how to bypass the trim height so that I can start the engine.

Checked the connection at the dutch connector. All clean. I figured out how to bypass the trim sender reading. Hold down the trim down button on the volvo throttle binnacle, hold start position on the key for 5 seconds and the engine will start bypassing any trim sender readings. At least that will work for a while until dealer can replace trim sensor.
