Re: trim tilt troubles force 125

Had SAME problem with 120 Force. First we purchased a similar part at the hardware store (check also automotive parts). We then machined that one to fit. Then we found a complete replacement setup at a local boat store. There are not many repair parts since they abandoned the strap design due to problems.

f

Re: trim tilt troubles force 125

I have an old pump and will give you the valve and snap ring, I will put a new seal in the valve, the new seal will prevent leak dowm. Now your turn look inside the hole that the valve come out of, you should see a valve with pointy tip on the end, try to remove this without damageing the tip. After you remove this valve you can remove the snapring on the other side and push out the other pilot valve and replace the seal inside the valve. If you dont have any leaks fill with ATF and you should have a good working system or you can UPS with return me the pump less motor and I will install the valve and seal in other side, Are you sure you have 1989 motor, the 89s hace screw in valve.

Re: trim tilt troubles force 125

There should be 2 allen screws 180 degrees from each other. If you take them out the engine will drop, so block engine up or leave down.

Re: trim tilt troubles force 125

There is 2 valves, you should replace seal in both sides. The part number is 829719 valve seat, you will need 2 of these. The seal is inside the valve. you get to the seal by prying off the end of the valve, with screwdriver and a rag wrapped round the tip, very carefuly. If tip does not move remove O-rings and heat in boiling water. You can call me 352-746-1953, I can explain this better if you have the valve in your hand. Dealers do not do this repair, most of them just sell the pump.
