Hello. I just came into a 1979 Mercury 150 V6 w/T&T (don't have the serial number handy) and have a question regarding the trim/tilt unit. The motor came with the 4 inch hydraulic hose missing on the transom assembly (previous owner said it had a hole so he removed it). Well, I've replace the hose and am ready to add fluid. The trim motor assembly is separate from the motor in the rear of the boat. The trim motor works just fine up/down (tries to pump when engaged). However, I don't have experience adding fluid. Can someone provide the process of where to add the fluid and the bleeding process? Is the resivoir located just beneath the pump? If so, I cannot locate a fill hole.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and happy holidays!

Is it a prestolite (square) or Oildyne (round) pump?

Thank you for the reply. The pump motor looks to be round (cylindrical) and the resivoir square. I've attached a pic to help.
