Trim/tilt problem on 87 cobra outdrive

The outdrive is getting stuck in the up position, the trim motor sounds good but I have to release the manual release valve to get it down, once its down it operates good up and down. What could the problem be? Low fluid? Thanks

When was the last time it was Lubricated,.????...

Where can I lubricate it at? Probley has not been done for awhile, Just bought the boat.

I don't recall any grease points on the OMC's on the pivot pins.<br /><br />

What could the problem be? Low fluid?

Since the boat is new to you, you might want to actually check it, not just ask if its the problem. Also check everything else. <br />You now have an almost 20 year old boat with no records of maintenance. Get an OEM service manual set for your engine and drive and check everything before you put it on the water.
