I have a 74 merc 1500 with what looks like factory tilt/trim. There are two cylinders with a large and small hose each. Two of the four have cracks in them and need replaced. Anyone know where I can find these?

whewwww 120 dollars for a hydraulic line! Is there a univeral design that you know of? I would love to do all four for piece of mind but at that price I could buy a whole new system. I certainly appreciate the look up for me laddies!

You dont by chance know the spark plug diameter do you? I am going to buy a compression tester tonight and want to be sure it has the right adapter.

On the lines if you notice there is a bend in the S/S end at the cyl. end, we have a hyd shop here in town that take the ends of and replaces the hose. You may have some one in your area that can do the job if you check around. Your plugs are 14 MM threads

I would have to say that the lines have been replaced before because I looked at the part you showed me and it is not what i have. I have the part number 18-2111 type. there is a spring around the connector at the cylinder and there is rubber hose from the crimp connection all the way from connector to connector no exposed SS line. Then the rubber is wrapped in a cloth jacket that looks like old asbestos insulation on electrical wiring. The thing failed im sure because it was rubbing on the transom/cylinder mount due to the small clearance between the two. I will check around and see if I can find a shop to do the reman on them for cheaper than new ones. Can they do that with this type of crimp on?

thanks for the diameter on the plug, saved me a trip home and back!
