Hi all,
i have a 18CC sea pro with a honda BF90 four strokes. She seem heavy with back end. I have relocated the two batteries to the center console and install a hydro fin on motor. She planes much quicker now. Once on plane, I trim the motor up until she is bounching, and max speed 27 mph GPS at 5500 rpm. It seem slow for her. A friend boat 19ft WA full load 3 people with a same motor top at 33mph @ 5500rpm.
Will trim tabs help with back end lift and performance speed. what else can I do to improve speed. thanks

Lose the foil and get a set of smart tabs. The foil actually gives you an unstable platform. Smarts tabs will bring you on plane faster and keep your boat level and stable. The foil also put additional stress on the transom.

What year is your Sea Pro? Is there any other extra weight in the back? Any chance that you have water logged foam in the rear? It does seem to be a little slow to me. The smart tabs will help getting it on plane and keeping it there at a lower speed. What is the maximum size engine your boat is rated for?

It is 1999. No others weight on the back since I have relocated the batteries to the center console. I was thinking of water in the foam. How do I check for "water foam" problems. Thanks
