trim tabs = no foil?

When I bought my boat, it already had the hydrofoil mounted above the prop. My boat was listing hard to port on plane. Installing Smart Tabs fixed me problems, while helping my extremely stern-heavy boat plane faster as an additional benefit.

My question is, should I remove the hydrofoil? I just read a post where that was recommended, and wondered how important it was to remove it....as far as I know, it's not bothering me by being there.

If you have tabs installed, there is no need for the foil. It will only hurt top speed and is not nessesary if the tabs are working correctly...

You should not need the hydrofoil now. I think that you will find your top speed is down, and the boat bow steers at higher speeds. Remove the hydrofoil and if needed increase the lift presure on the tabs. Running both will cause handling issue that you may not know are there at this point.
