trim tab

i took apart lower unit on my 1971 60hp johnson and did not mark position of trim tab,is there a neutral setting for this style of trim tab? there is numbers 1 through 6 on it,dont know what they mean. i have a manual nothing in book on this matter.

Hi Glasspar,<br /> Put the tab in the center for now.When you take out the boat on plane,check to see if it pulls left or right.Adjust tab accordingly in opposite direction one number at a time.(if needed)
