I have a 1989 Invader stern drive that I am trying to fix the trim tabs. The pump runs but does not send fluid to cylinders, does anyone have an idea where the relay might be located? I have searched the engine compartment with no luck

If pump is running then relays are working, might be low on fluid

What motor is in the boat?

We are talking trim tabs (right?) not outdrive trim?

Do you have Bennett trim tabs? IIRC, it is all in the pump motor unit.

Bennett trim tab pump. Self contained with solenoids under the smoked cover and no external relays. Dash switch for trim tabs tell pump where to send the fluid to the tabs and how.

There are check valves under the solenoids (they just unscrew) that do get gummed up and mess up the operation. Lots of videos on youtube to show that and how to clean.

Mercruiser Drive tilt / trim pump. All relays are on the bracket. Pump rotation dictates up or down. Dash switch for drive tilt tells pump to raise or lower.
