trim switch help

On a alpha One I have 2 trim sending units that connect to each side of the lower unit how do they work right side does one function and the left does another? If so what ?<br /> I notice when I move the right side the trim guage moves but when moving the other one nothing happens and how do i reset them since I took them off last year becasue the wire broke its never been right when I move it and look at the gauge an it moves ok a bit and then jumps to the far right....

I believe the one on the right is your trim sending unit and the one on the left is the trim limit switch which only allows you to raise the drive up so far and then you need to usr the trailer switch to bring it all the way up.

boatin bob is correct, the trim limit switch prevents you from raising the drive higher that the large supports on each side of the drive when the boat is under way. be sure it is adjusted properly or you could actually rip the drive off the back of the boat......
