TRIM SENSOR WIRE 90 HP MERC

I have a 90 hp mercury on a 93 brunswick suncaster. There is a brown/white wire coming off the trim sensor in the stern. The trim gauge has a brown/white wire on it and comes out the back wiring harness from the gauge but plugs into a brown wire and goes ??. I cannot find anywhere that this brown/white sensor wire could plug into. Any thoughts. I have a small wire/tube coming out the bottom of the lower unit but I think thats for the speedo. Thanks All.
