Hello fello boaters.
I having a technical issue with my 220 2006 Sea Ray Sundeck. The S/N of the transom is OW492763 (this is the number on the mounting bracket attaching to the exterior of the boat standing behind the boat looking forward).

I found a similar thread on iboats forum under the following link which seems to be the same problem that I am experiencing http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=243297 but couldn't really understand the step by step procedure in fixing the problem. The thread talks about switches etc? are they referring to the trim sensors?

The Issue
When I bought the boat:
- I had no trim on the analogue gauge at all due to port side trim sensor wires being cut.
- Kept getting a trim sensor alarm on the digital smart craft display which beeps sporadically both with the ignition on sitting on the trailer and also out in the water coming onto plane.

Work completed to date:
- Outdrive has been removed and both brand new sensors have been replaced. Everything has been placed back together and the smart craft calibration has been complete.
- Analogue trim gauge now works fine but the trim sensor alarm still occurs.

Is there anyone out there that can add anything useful to this problem or provide any value in deciphering the above thread that I found?
Many thanks

Which monitor do you have? If you have analog gauges AND the early monitor (there were a few different ones) the monitor failed.
Make sure the plug-ins are connected at the transom. Back of the motor, behind the distributor. 4 wires w/tags; trim analog, trim digital (is this), trim ground & analog ground. All 4 must be connected.
1 other possibility, the ICM behind the dash may have failed. But I would assume they figured that out when it was recalibrated.
Which is another point, you must have the Mother Mercury's diagnostics for dialing these in!

Pete,
- I have taken a photo of the monitor and will post it tomorrow. Would you be able to tell from the photo?
- I checked the wires last night and they seem to be correct. The only thing is that the two wires that go into the trim pump from the outdrive are both male connectors that connect into the female connectors. These are not lableled at all so i just connected them. Should I try swithing these around??
- Wires coming from the engine are labeled so I feel that these are correct.
- The ICM behind dash, what does ICM mean? Should I think about replacing this as well?
- When you refer to mother Mercury's diagnostics for dialing these in.....is there special equipment that shold be used from a dealer? I just reset the smart craft and made sure that the smart craft was set to the max up and max down posiion of the outdrive.

regards
Grant

Is your trim limit switch working and adjusted correctly. Also, do you have either the engine or drive serial number. The transom shield number is of no help.
