Hello. Besides some other issues i have to my boat, i can not adjust the trim sensors. The engines are 377Mags DTS Axius, serial 1A605669 & 1A605670.
I bought for both engines the kit with the digital three wire sensor on port and analog sensor on starboard side of transom (8M0107462). I read the manual and tells to position the mark of the rotor to "1" and then place it to drive .I prepared the connector and place the wires to the connector according manual. The three wires are connected to harness and i have not connected the analog sender, as i have the vesselview and then the digital to analog converter for the analog gauges.
The problem is that during calibration, when i press the up button the drive raises a little from full down position and then stop. It does not raise further and so i can not calibrate the trim gauge. We tried with G3 as well, and we had the same results. The G3 showed about 40counts at full down position but when try to lift the drive ...it stops very early...
We tried to play with the rotor of three wire sensor so to trick it and then the drive could go to full up position but i could not calibrate the gauges and the vv showed trim sensor fault.
The same happens at both engines...
What i do wrong?????

The trim position sensor sends position information to the gauge. Up/down indication

The trim limit switch controls the travel of the trim cylinder.

Both sensors need to be installed and adjusted for the system to work properly.

Guessing your missing the trim limit signal and or the switch is out of adjustment

I think that when the engine is DTS and has only smartcraft gauges, only the digital three wire sensor is connected and sends the position signal to gauges. The limit is then set by ecu...
Am i correct?

@silver_power I've been following your threads (saga) in getting the engine sorted out.

I am not familiar with the combo digital and analog gauge set-up, as I have the next generation of 3-wire DTS sender. (digital sender only = a blank on the stbd side of outdrive)

But . . . Is the analog sender for the trim limit? If so, would adjusting that to stop the trim-up at 21-3/4" of trim ram extension (pin-to-pin) do the trick?

Are there connectors for both the digital and analog senders at/near the transom?

Did you have the outdrive in the full 'down' position when you installed the senders?
