Tie a string to the old one before you pull it out, it pulls out from the outside so tie the string on the inside part of the plug, this will help when it comes to sticking the new one back into the hole you can just tie the string to it and pull, use some triple guard or equivilent and smear it all over the plug and will pop in easier. There may or may not be a spring clip retainer on the inside holding it in place, a flashlight and plumbers mirror is about the only way to see it, then it's by feel, good luck be patient it can be done.
