Trim ram lines

Hi, there was a post a while back regarding rebuild of the trim rams.


My question is about replacing the retainer and 0-ring on the ram where the line slips in-to (that is where mine is leaking). The post mentions that "You have to drill out the retainer ring to get to the o-ring."
My question is how do you "drill out the retainer ring"? Hopefully this isn't too dumb of a question...I just don't want to get any metal filings down in the ram.
