Hello all,
I have a 90 Chris Craft with an OMC Cobra 5.8L 351. After letting the boat sit in my garage for about 7 months, we are haveing problems with the electric trim. We took it out for the first time this weekend and I noticed that the motor sounded really slow, and the trim moved slow also. Now, when you try to adjust it with the switch on the gear shifter, it makes a clicking sound coming from the motor. I was wondering if this could be a bad switch or a bad relay. I can tap on the motor houseing and it starts to work breifly, then stops. I have not tried to do anything other than that because it was getting dark last night. I found this forum and this is the first post I have ever made. I am hoping to get some helpful hints and tricks before I go home today and start diagnosing it. I have a Clymer manual and was reading in it last night. Also, last year, when you would be driving the boat and adjust the trim, sometimes I would get shocked from the switch on the shifter. This is why I was thinking it was a bad switch. If not that, maybe the relay went bad? Could this be the cause of the clicking and the slow speed it raises and lowers? I didn't think that low fluid could cause the motor to click because to me, clicking is an electrical problem. Also, seems like the relay is getting SOME power because I put my finger on one of the leads by accident and was like !

Any info would be great.
