Trim position on small outboards

Just wondering where all you guys with smaller outboards (6hp) position the trim. Right now mine is currently on the lowest hole, making it the most vertical, but I've been reading articles that maybe the 2nd or 3rd hole is best. Just wondering what you guys normally leave it at. FYI I have a 6 hp on a 11' Avon. I currently can plane with 2 people, but just been looking to improve speed and the ride. Also thinking about those lifters from Maxi Marine. Anyone use those?

Distribute passengers weight acordingly at rear & front of boat, open throttle fully, when at plane, cav plate must be parallel to water surface, this can be achieved placing trust rod at second or third hole out from transom, try both and determine which one suits best that condition.

If you boat alone, move yourself towards bow, sit on tube or inside deck and with extended arm to have a confortable steering posiiton full throttle to plane much faster. Let us know if moving thrust rod out transom and balancing passenger(s) properly worked for you.
