Trim Lower Unit Drop

I need some advice.
My 96 Four Winns has a Volvo with the SX Cobra lower unit.
My problem is the lower unit when in the up position will slowly lower itself until all the way down.
This may take 1 day, maybe 5 days. It varies.
The trim pump is full of fluid and I cannot see a sign of any leaking.
Any suggestions??

Is there a way to determine if the pump is leaking? I started out by removing pump fill cap, and fluid immediately came out. Does this mean the fluid is full, or is the lower unit in the up position forcing the fluid out? You referenced a link, but I couldn't find the section that answered my question. My question is: does this mean the pump needs replacing or rebuilding, and is it a hard or easy fix?
