I'm working on a 1978 Starcraft with a MC-1 outdrive and a 120 hp mercruiser. The boat is being restored so the motor and outdrive have been removed and now installed. My problem is both pair of wires going to the trim limit and trim gauge switches were shorted and burned up. I replaced the switches while doing the belows but have no ideal where the wires reconnect.
I connected the wires going by the burnt up remains and one schematic I found in the manual. The schematic was not very clear and I would like some reassurance from someone who knows....
The picture does not make it real easy to tell what's going on so I numbered the connections:
1 = port switch (2 blue wires in the factory harness)
2 = port switch (goes to a light tan or off white in the factory harness)
3 = starboard switch (goes to a purple wire in the factory harness)
4 = starboard switch (goes to a trim pump solenoid (+12V) terminal)
Thanks for your help
