Hello,
I have a alpha one gen 2 outdrive and I am having an issue adjusting the trim limit switch. The trim works fine when operated at the throttle switches, but will not move when I am manually adjusting it on the outdrive. When I loosen the screws on the switch and manually turn it nothing happens. What may cause this issue?
Thanks

I guess after reading this, I am not understanding what you are trying to do. Turning the trim limit switch will not change the gauge at all. It adjusts the point that you have to use the trailer button to raise the outdrive.

Yes, the key is in the run position. I am adjusting the trim limit and not the trim sender switch. The book says the rams should be at 21 3/4 from center of bolts, and you adjust it by loosening the screws and turning the switch housing to obtain the proper length. I am sorry If it wasn't clear.
Thanks

You start with the drive fully down , using the trim up switch how far is the spacing. You loosen the screws and turn the puck slightly, tighten the screw, and cycle the trim again to check the spacing

That makes more sense. From what I gather, you are attempting to move the rams with the limit switch. The switch does not move the rams. The switch cuts out power to up system when the limit is reached.

What you need to do is trim all the way up from the controls, not using the trailering button. When it cuts out, measure your distance. You turn the limit switch either way to adjust the length at which it cuts out. Give a buddy a beer and have him operate the controls for you. It is much easier with two people.

Adjusting the trim limit is actually an aerobic exercise . . . running in and out of the boat while you make small adjustments of the limit switch then put the drive down with the helm switch, and raise it up until it stops, then run out of the boat to check the ram extension distance. . . . and keep repeating until you get the right measurement. :)

Thanks guys, I finally got it adjusted. It really is a workout when doing it by yourself.
