4.3l cobra outdrive. The outdrive leaks down slowly. I have rebuilt the cylinders but it didn't help. I was wondering if anyone had something similar to happen. Is there an internal valve in the pump unit itself?

Re: Trim leaks down

Could be bypassing at the pump( lots of o rings in that dude)... How slow is it??

I bought my boat from a fella that rigged up a Volvo trim pump on it.. With the little tank
looks just like this..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Volv...at_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item4aa70eca1c

I have had good luck with it.. Had to replace the motor, but it's been pretty good otherwise..

If you DO have a pump issue.. I would just try to find a good used one rather than try to fix it(lots of crap could be wrong).. They run about 80 bucks for the whole assy.. Plug and play pretty much.. Ya can't beat that....

Re: Trim leaks down

Thanks for the info. It takes it several minutes to leak down. I've been keeping it tied up for travel, otherwise I've been just dealing with it.
