I have found the point of my leak on the trim cylinder.Removed it,cleaned everything and replaced the o-rings at the line to the top of the cylinder.
Ran it up and down several times and everything looked dry.2 days later its leaking again...I even bought new lines for it...over 100 bucks wasted!
This is driving me nuts!!!
Any special O-rings needed? Sealant?

In the diagram i replaced the o-rings at #41 and #80

On the diagram thats the supply line to the tilt cylinder, correct? This is an o-ring seal at this location and should not be a point that would leak after replacment.
What are you useing for fluid?
Check the body where you are inserting the tube and O-ring. Ensure there are no burs or defects that could cause the leak to reapear.
Sorry this is about the only advice that I can think of.

Thanks,I have replaced the 0-rings 3 times now.The top line on the tilt cylinder is a strange design. The large fitting screws into the band around the tilt cylinder,it has an o-ring.Then the line with the other o-ring screws into that.
I had ran out of trim fluid and have been using ATF..Could that eat the o-rings up?
Something else strange.I tighten the fittings up real snug and a day later they are loose again? Have used teflon tape on the threads with no help.
The OMC manual does not have any info on these lines other than just replace o-rings.
I hate to spend 300 to 400 on another used trim system..just because of a leak.
I have had it apart so many times now i could scream...
I wonder if sanding the body of the tilt cylinder with some 600 grit would get the o-ring to seal..no visible signs of burrs on that surface.

I seem to remember a specific type of ATF to use with the TT I think it was type F. Not sure but some of the newer ATF or different types could be your problem.
Useing t tape here should not be needed, and could cause other problems if it gets into the hydralic's.
Check to see if that fitting is cracked. A harline crack is not visible unless stressed.

I think i will pull it all back apart again. The ATF was Dexron i think.
I'll take it apart and go over it with a magnifying glass..
Its really starting to get to me.
Another thing i noticed is i can leave the motor tilted up for 2 days and it does not move and no sign of the leak.
lower it down and by the next day i got drops of fluid on the bottom of the tilt cylinder.
You can see where it has been leaking a long time from the tilt supply line.the paint is gone around the fitting.
The previous owner had rounded off the original line fitting by not using a line wrench on it.So i guess its been a problem for a long time..

I found a rebuilt unit for 650....

Trying to find a new fitting that screws into the tilt cylinder and new o-rings for that line..
BRP lists it as one unit...ouch!
I have been using o-rings from the auto parts store...i guess they are no different, size is the same.

Try Dixie Marine http://www.dixiemarinesales.com/?src=overture
I have had luck with them for parts like this. Another thought would be a marine salvage place. I'm sure no matter where you find this it will be way over priced.
Sorry, I threw away the old unit that came off mine, or I would offer it.

You stated the previous owner had rounded off the fitting, That fitting would be highly suspect; it may even be a bogus part that he used instead of the orriginal. Hydralic fittings are very sensitive, mixing and matching components usually results in leaks.

Thanks for the help!

I found a used unit down the road about a mile from me. The guy actually has several to choose from.Found him on Ebay..
I'm going tomorrow to look at them.He guarantees them not to leak or just bring it back.
He wanted 325 but i talked him down to 275...
If i do that i'll have plenty of spare parts out of my old one...

I think i remember your last thread gary. Those lines are expensive . There is a band above the tilt cylinder, this is where the oil line screws in. After the oil line there should be an o ring, then a fitting, then another o ring i believe, have you changed both? If it is still leaking at this connection, are you sure its not leaking from above? There are 3 more o rings above this that the oil may be leaking down from possibly: 2 in the end head assembly and 1 between the piston and the band. There is no need for tape on these fittings as said. Lubricate all parts with OMC sealube power TNT fluid before rea assembly. Inspect cylinder and sleeves for scoring. Replace if badly scored. Inspect all parts for dirt, chips, and damage. Replace any damaged valve seats. replace seals and o rings on all disassembled parts. www.maxrules.com has fairly priced units as well.

Yes HighTrim,i replaced both of those o-rings.
I went back out and looked it over good tonight. still leaking at that fitting and now the port side trim piston is seaping too...
I guess the few years the boat set in the water before i bought it took a toll on the trim unit..

I looked at those rebuilts at the link you posted.I would love to go that route but the budget says no..
I'm going to go look at the ones here local and see how they are. When i talked to the guy on the phone he said bring the boat by and if i buy one he will help me put it on and make sure it works with no problems
