Trim leak found

Found the leak on my trim system. Its the metal line that goes into the top of the tilt cylinder.
I looked at an exploded view and it makes no sense.
The metal line has an o-ring,it screws into a larger fitting that also has an o-ring,that goes through a clamp like band around the top of the cylinder.
Why the band?
It looks like the PO tried to tighten this before because the corners are rounded off on the fittings.
Looks like i'll have to remove the whole assembly to get to that line with a line wrench.
Any tricks guys?

Re: Trim leak found

Im glad you found it gary. I think everyone ive ever looked at is rounded, dont ya hate that, ppl trying to rush it with pliers. BTW, the band holds the piston end head assembly in place. My guess is its the outer o ring, but you might as well change the one after the band fitting while ur at it. If you spray it in some good penetrating oil, it will probably come off with pliers, ugh, strip it more , but it will come off.GL

Re: Trim leak found

Thanks HT,I think there is enough of it left to get a line wrench on.I may get lucky..I think i'll make a modified stubby line wrench and see if i can do it without pulling the trim assembly out.
thanks for your help:D
