trim has oil and voltage but wont work

1978 mercrusier, mcm 140

Goes down slowly, goes up stronger. failed working all together, wacked the trim pump housing with a screw driver and worked temporarily then stopped again.

I hope this makes sence.

sounds like it needs a new power trim motor
or the pump could be full of sludge and making it difficult to turn the motor

Needs new brushes in the motor and the commutator cleaned.

I put in new brushes and cleaned up the motor and she works like new! Thanks!
