Trim Guage

My trim guage isnt working. All the buttons and controls that trim/tilt and trailer the lower unit is working fine and the lower unit is doing what its told...just the guage is stuck on 1/4. Any suggestions other than replacing the guage...oh yeah I have tapped on the guage....nothing.

It may be the sending unit. WD-40 the heck out of it and work it back and forth. Remove the wires behind the guage and lightly sand them off with emery cloth and re-attach. More than likely it is just a sticky unit or corrosion on the guage wires.<br /><br />Bob

I understand the wire part on cleaning, but where is the sending unit on the boat or lower unit? Thanks so much for your help.<br /><br />Brian
