Trim Gauge

I have a 1999 200hp Mercury Blue water Series. My trim gauge only reads all the way up or all the way down. When I have the boat trimmed all the way down it reads down. As soon as I trim it up even a tad, it reads all the way up. Anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening or how to fix it?

To me that just says you need another trim sender. You might be able to readjust, but in most cases it just needs replacing

Spray the sender and see if that helps. Could be a little dirt or corrosion in there.

We had the same problem with our twin 2002 115hp four stroke EFI.
They were both broken the day the boat was delivered to us.
It was a 1984 Mako 224, there were so may other things more important to fix we decided to just turn around and look at the top of the motor cover, the point i wish i had your motor problems.
