I have a 1994 115 Mariner that I want to install a trim gauge for. Below is a picture of wiring in the engine available to attach to. I know the brown/white stripe wire is for a trim gauge sender. Can I just buy a gauge and hook the wires together or do I need to have a sensor put in somewhere. Ive been looking online for sensors and cant seem to find anything. Can someone point me in the right direction for installing a trim gauge. I just purchased the boat this summer and I am still learning. Thanks!

Re: Trim Gauge??

You should see the sender in the transom bracket. It is a variable resistor, with an arm that rides up and down as the motor trims/tilts.

Normally trim gauges are inaccurate. They are also unnecessary, as it is best to trim by motor sound, boat feel and boat speed. I would recommend a water pressure gauge instead.
