trim gauge range Q

What does the range on the trim gauge represent? I mean, if the needle is all the way at the top, is that supposed to be the absolute top of the trim range, (trailered) or is it the operational range in the water? Is that blue shade below the mid-line supposed to represent the water line? I ask because my trim sender/gauge has been sketchy since I bought my boat and I've never seen it in good working order. If I replace the sender or at least adjust it I'd like to know how the gauge should read. I can get by fine by feel but it'd be nice to get a visual indicator.

Re: trim gauge range Q

Normally the gauge shows full up (trailer mode) and full down.

There have been many gauges, both Merc and aftermarket, used on boat.
Take a picture and post it, so we know what your gauge looks like.
