My Boat did not come with a trim gauge it is a 1994 Bayliner 2050LS with a 4.3 V6 and I want to add one however I have exhausted all my sources for theis Trim gauge it is a Faraia US Marine styly See Pic's attached for the life of me I cannot find the trim Gauge that would match this trim style, Maybe it is a Bayliner exclusive I guess or it was never created.. any help would be nice. I called Faria and thier customer service was not very cooperative I did not care for the way I was treated . Thanks in advance.

Re: Trim gauge mercuser Alpha 1

The speedo gauge is a US Marine gauge. You are looking for one that will match it and, I assume, the rest of your gauges? Or are you looking for a Farina gauge, like the one in the other photo that is too small to see?
Either way, you will most likely not find a new gauge of an old style.
What is hot today may not be tommorrow, and therefore no longer available.
It's not like with cars, where availability of replacement parts is regulated by federal law. If Ford builds a car today, 9 years from now you will be able to replace an instrument.
Guage styles don't last long. You are probably going to have to settle for a gauge that is not an exact match.
To find that will require hunting cataloges.

Ayuh,... Have you checked over the trim sending unit on the side of the gimbel,..??
The wires are notorious for rotting off...

Once you see what it's like changing 'em,...
You might decide to get along without that particular gauge....

There's factory manuals for your drive up in the Adults Only section,...

I agree with Bondo the trim guage on the mercs are not slap in the guage hook up a few wires and your good to go. Pretty complex as far as sending unit, wireing, limiter switch, etc. All must be in perfect shape for the guage to work right

Well So far I checket the outrrive for the sender ans positioner and they are both there and wires intact This in it self is encouraging. I guess next is to look at where these wire terminate it would be ever so nice to see they wired them all the way to the helm. Just need to find that matching US marine Gauge by Faria and I'm doing good so far. Anyone out there can tell me what wires to tie into with a Volt meter. and what signal I should get full on with open or O ohms Scott

Go to the DIY section and download the manual for your setup. Wire diagrams are included.

Maybe post an add for that guage there are alot of people working on bayliners you may find one who is replacing guages with new and looking to get rid of their originals.

Well there arent really Want adds here nor do the mods want them, which I understand. However if you put the word out there to the bayliner owners have them PM you if they know of anything. Or a local add I guess, I just know I have seen a lot of people restoring bayliners on here and maybe one of them is doing new guages and has what you need..

Port side is the trim limit switch. If the trim UP button is working, then someone has already jumped it out. The trim gauge wire is in the harness to the instrument panel. You just have to check that the connectors at the back of the engine are hooked up. Should be a black wire and a brown/white wire connected to a black figure eight pair that goes through the transom housing.

Ayuh,... To Repair 'em,...
Buy the 2 sender/ switches,...
Pull the Drive,+ the Gimbel Housing,+ replace 'em...
Then reassemble...

The Trim won't work without the switch, but the trailer will over-ride it, so it's still functional...
Both of them, 4 wires, meet the wiring harness, just inside the transom...
They can be by-passed there...
