Any idea on how to install a trim gage or trim meter on a new Yamaha 115? Do I have to use a gage supplied by Yamaha or will anything do? How do I check to see if I have a 2 or 3 wire sender?

How many cables comes in to the engine from the trim-motor. There is 2 or 3 cables.
They are blue, green and black on the 3-wire system,or blue and green on the 2-wire system.
They goes to trim solenoids.
Where is your meter that comes with the new engine ??

175- your trim sender is on the transom bracket...I think on the left side as you face bak of motor...it's about the size of a 50 cent piece and has a plastic arm that rides against the bracket as it raises to tell posistion..you should have motor up to find it easily

Do yourself a favor with that outboard and get yourself Yamaha's matching multi-function tach.

The trim indicator will be integrated into the gauge, along with hours, temp, oil, fuel, and of course rpm. Just plug it into the 115's controls.
