A few questions. This is my first post. I cannot afford to continue to use the marine to fix my boat. I must learn! I am going to attempt to rebuild my trim cylinders. My tilt is very tempramental. Sometimes it gets stuck in the up and sometimes it gets stuck in the down position. I then add oil and and cross my fingers and it usually will stop the clicking noise in the trimm motor and it will work.. This tells me the oil is leaking out the trimm cylinder. I have seen oil leak here. I also see where the gasket on the end of the trimm cylinder is off. My question #1 is. Is this a hard job? #2 I understand since this system is hydrolic the trim cylinder is under pressure and if I take it apart pieces will go flying?? #3 How do I bleed this system? This system is a Oildyne/Eaton Pump. Any help appreciated!

BOAT- Break Out Another Thou$and

Re: Trim Cylinders Rebuild

Don't even consider attempting this without the correct FACTORY manual. There should be no fluid leaking from the hydraulic cylinders...but when you describe the clicking noise etc...I'm not so sure you don't have another problem as well. Either way...the manual should guide you through the necessary troubleshooting steps and repairs.

Walt
