My trim was leaking so I was trying to remove the cap to replace the orings inside and I busted the housing in the process. Wondering what the next step is now? Can it be repaired or should I start looking for a used tilt/trim unit. I've seen them listed for $250-$300 on ebay so I guess I've made a pretty costly mistake if thats what needs to be done. How difficult is it to swap out the tilt/trim unit, the motor is a 78 115.

If it's been in salt water have plenty of Heat available when trying to get it apart.

Where do you live, dude? I have a "78 Johnson 140 with a blown power head that is presently a lawn ornnament. Wife wants me to send it to the metal crusher. I believe the tilt/trim is OK.
