So even though I am not in the market I still scan Craigs on a regular basis. Guy has a flying D for sale, he has it listed as a flying C. I sent the guy a text and simply stated that he has a flying D and if he sends Alumacraft the number on the knee of the transom they will give you the model and the year and possibly how many were made that year.

The guy texted me and left 2 voice mails on what an idiot I am and if I notify him again he will have me arrested. That is why you do not try to help random people on the internet.

Agreed.-----At one time I corrected some sellers with motors listed as 10 or more years newer then they were.-------Amazing replies and I do not do it anymore.

you cant fix stupid, my guess billy 6-pack with the boat probably has a multitude of issues

Based on his voicemail I am thinking he is more like 12 pack stupid. It is kinda funny when an idiot that is dead wrong insists on telling you how wrong you are.

No excuse, but I'd bet its 50/50 the title/registration lists it as a C....

The tag office here couldn't find my exact boat (hp, etc.) amongst the choices when I tried to register it after buying in a different state, so they finally just picked something that seemed right or close anyway as far as whatever details they were looking at. It didn't have a data plate, so that didn't help either. Prob not a big deal, but yeah.

Whenever I come across an accident between 2 cars still parked on the road and the owners are exchanging info while standing between the two cars I nicely tell them if they like their legs attached they should not be between the cars.
Most of the time they thank me and move but often enough I get an FU out of it.

There is a tag on an alumacraft Transom that has the model on it but if the boat is left outside over the years the tag may have faded. A Deep C is worth about the same as a Flying D, this one had holes in the dash that drive down any value. He said it was his dads that he bought in 1954. There is absolutely zero doubt the boat in question is a Flying D. I have the exact boat sitting in a barn.

I recently tried to stop or at least make a woman in a Ford ranger in the lane next me aware she had a dresser in the back it’s drawers were falling out and about to be scattered on the road she flipped me off.
of course this was in Portland I guess by the way Portland is headed I should expect this.
